colour wheel: mimosa
Let’s be honest, I don’t have the freedom to waltz into Saks and causally pick up a mimosa Balenciaga city bag; I settled for the above Marc by Marc Hillier bag in the same colour. Mimosa is the colour for S/S 2011 – there isn’t a shop you’ll go into without seeing some sort of yellow.. unless of course, you’re at White House | Black Market . Colour-blocking mimosa with purples, greens and pinks (à la Gucci) is definitely a stand-out look!
The last time I was in Saks, I walked by the Balenciaga display – naturally this color was safely incased along with the wallets; probably for the best considering I would’ve stood at the mirror admiring it around my arm for hours. If you can, however, afford the luxury of a Balenciaga in a variety of colours, the city bag is a must!
…and if you love the Balenciaga city – you can get the matching flats!! Okay, I suppose you wouldn’t get the matching flats and wear them with the bag but aren’t they adorable?
Yes, Balenciaga also has a cuff, in the same colour.
Chanel polishes are long-lasting and always as fun as they look in the bottle. This season there are few vibrant colours that are well-worth the price.
Tori Praver’s super sunny bikini is ideal for.. err.. I guess anywhere the water is! Bandeau swimsuits are my absolute favorite and the details on this one are really fun!
This one shoulder Mara Hoffman dress is stunning – the shoes aren’t exactly ideal for the summer, instead I’d pair it with a cobalt blue or pink strappy heel.
